About the artwork
Iguazu draws inspiration from the raw vitality of South America — its layered cultures, earthy landscapes and the constant movement of life itself. The title refers to the Iguazu waterfalls: powerful, rhythmic and ever-changing.
This original abstract figurative painting explores connection, rhythm and organic form through colour and line.
While painting this piece, I worked intuitively, allowing the composition to unfold organically. Faces, hands and abstracted bodies appear and dissolve again, as if caught in a shared flow. The figures seem connected — to each other, to the landscape, and to something older and deeper beneath the surface.
Warm terracotta tones, burnt oranges and earthy browns are balanced by muted greens, creating a grounded yet dynamic palette. The white line work weaves through the painting like a visual pulse, guiding the eye and reinforcing the sense of movement and continuity.
